Advisory Committee

  • Lindsey Soffes serves as the Program Officer for Rise for Animals, an animal rights organization that advocates for the abolition of animal experimentation. Prior to joining Rise, she directed a high-volume, municipal animal shelter that, during her tenure, adopted and adhered to a no-kill ideology; undertook community engagement efforts and animal cruelty investigations for a farmed and companion animal sanctuary; and championed human civil rights as a practicing attorney. Lindsey holds a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Washington, a Graduate Certificate in Animal Policy and Advocacy from Humane Society University, a Humane Investigator certificate from the University of Missouri, and a law degree from William & Mary School of Law.

Animal Partisan’s mission of challenging animal exploitation through creative and forward-thinking legal advocacy resonates both with Lindsey’s personal adherence to ethical veganism and her professional experiences in animal protection, which repeatedly highlighted the current legal paradigm’s stark and prejudiced discounting of all non-human interests in favor of any human interests. She is proud to serve on Animal Partisan’s Board of Directors and is grateful for the opportunity to help reimagine the legal system as a potent tool for change and the harbinger of a more just, more peaceful world for all.
