Animal agriculture is without question the single largest cause of animal suffering in the United States. Billions of land animals are slaughtered for food each year after short, brutal existences, and this does not even include incalculable numbers of aquatic animals whose numbers are so large they cannot even be measured as individuals. Millions more are confined and abused in cruel industries that exploit them for dairy, wool, and other products derived from their bodies.
